What sort of Material?

Keeping in mind the Left border Layout, we will be needing a background image. You will also need a logo for your page and some buttons for your navigation bar.Let's Start with a Background Image.

When you choose a background Image, your browser will repeat it over and over until it covers the whole of your webpage. In this tutorial, we will be using a left border background image that looks like this :

This is a reduced size Image. Note that the white area is also part of the Image. The White area extends way to the right. This is to cater for higher resolution displays. A display monitor with a lower resolutions will simpley see less of the white area. When you include this graphic as a background image, a browser will repeat it until it creates a left border effect. If you want to create your own Border Image then you can do so using numerous Image Processing softwares available. If you do not want to create your own left border, you can get ready-made royalty free background Images from

Clipart.com.

Just do a search for "Left Border Background" in the WebArt Category. If you already have a logo... use it! If you don't, you'll have to create one. Nothing major, just a simple logo to start out with. To create your simple logo, You Can use the free online creator at
